Deck the halls

you know what to do

I've nearly reached the top of the hand on the first Ellipsis mitten. I'm not 100% sure about the fit around the knuckles but I won't really be able to tell until I've finished the thumb.

I can always rip back if it's not working. After all I've got a four hour train journey tomorrow to work it out in.

I managed to get a much better photo of the finished Berry Hill mittens this morning using the same bit of wall that I used last week for the Skipton gloves.

Much more realistic colour in this daylight shot.

Away from the knitting my running mojo is going from strength to strength at the moment. I'm feeling very motivated, mostly because I have got the running club entry for next year's London Marathon. One of the nice things about doing the London Marathon is that you don't have to explain what a big deal it is and why you're so excited (unlike, for instance, going to see the Yarn Harlot).

I went out again tonight with the Woodstock Harriers who are a pretty hard-running bunch and as such are very good for me and on Saturday I managed 7.65 mi on my own, the furthest I've run in months. I didn't think that I'd be able to motivate myself to run that far on a there-and-back route so I put my running gear on under jeans and a coat and ran back from the supermarket carpark after our weekly shop. The only snag was that I realised after half a mile that I hadn't explicitly told the boyfriend (who was driving home) that I didn't have my keys so I spent the next seven miles hoping that he wouldn't go out again before I got home. Still, it was a good incentive to keep on the pace.

The advent calendar is marvellous.
I am loving your fingerless mitts, also. The stitch pattern on Ellipses is especially lovely!

Excellent re: the marathon place, too.
