6 sausages, 5 black puddings, 4 fried eggs, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 slices of toast ...

The lengths my brother will go to for a good story!

Meantime I've been knitting away on a new pair of fingerless gloves.

Lacy cabled mittens

I know that cream gloves are not terribly practical but the colour is very seasonal and the lacy cables look so pretty. I know how these are going to work out through the hand and fingers now so all I need is a name. I don't really have any hard and fast rules for naming patterns. Sometimes the name will be inspired by the stitch pattern as with the Hopscotch socks, sometimes I'll see it in a book I'm reading like the Berry Hill fingerless mittens and sometimes it will be something totally random. For instance the Skipton gloves are so named because the main colour is the same as that on my favourite coffee mug, which I bought in a National Trust shop in Skipton. In fact..from random to serendipitous, to elision, to ellipsis, I think I have a name! See, completely random.

The breakfast story is incredible and I enjoyed the family resemblance between you and your brother!

The giant breakfast sounds insane.

'A Coroner's nightmare.'

Your fingerless gloves look very good also.

I love the idea of white gloves!
